A garden designed and supervised by Tōboku, a Buddhist priest, in 1814. It is a dry landscape garden located to the west of the shoin and is called "Tōkai ichiren no niwa." The triad stones, and three artificial hills representing the sacred islands of Hōrai, Hōjō, and Eishū, are important elements of its composition. A picture by Tōboku of the garden still survives. The garden is designated a national scenic spot and historic site, and is located in Ukyō ward, Kyoto.
