Fujito stone

An ornamental stone at the garden of Sanpōin of Daigoji temple in Kyoto. It has been highly prized as a distinguished stone since the Muromachi period, and Toyotomi Hideyoshi placed it in its present position after it had gone through the possession of many men of power. It is said to have been produced at Fujito no watari, the present Kojima bay of Okayama prefecture.
