天赦園

Tenshaen garden


A garden built at the retirement home of Date Munenori, lord of the Uwajima domain, in 1863. It is one of the latest examples of a Daimyo garden. The centerpiece of the garden is a pond with a convoluted shoreline, noteworthy for its stone shore edging and ornamental stones. It is designated a national scenic spot, and located in the city of Uwajima, Ehime prefecture.
