Sankeien garden

A garden built by Hara Tomitarō, a successful businessman in Yokohama. In 1906 the outer garden was completed and opened to the public. In addition to making good use of its wide precinct, composed of four hills and three valleys, its technique of creating a new landscape using numerous old buildings moved to appropriate spots is without parallel. In particurar, the three-storied pagoda set on a hill is a landmark which can be seen from various spots in the garden. It is designated a national scenic spot, and located in Naka ward, Yokohama.
