Kōetsuji gaki
光悦寺垣

Kōetsuji fence


A bamboo fence whose original is at Kōetsuji temple in Kyoto. It is made with a lattice of woven bamboo, and has a long tamabuchi coping which curves gently and touches the ground on one side. The fence is usually 1.2-1.5 m high and can serve as a garden partition.
